It’s time for a new normal in fast food.

We are bringing Japanese onigiri to Europe, but with a twist! The rice balls from Puzo Bar are totally untraditional and 100% fusion. We spent one year working on the 10-piece, globally inspired menu with the acclaimed Rocking Chefs (Head Chef Ralf Jakumeit is awarded 16/20 Gault Millau points).

What we’re proudest of, though, is how we are doing it. Puzo Bar is offering a new style in fast food. We have a minimal ecological impact, source top-grade ingredients, have an excellent price-point, and this is carried out in a gorgeous setting. At Puzo Bar, we want you to feel welcome and taken care of, trusting that there are no tricks behind our food preparation process.

We’re also serious about our sustainability practices, which is why you don’t find plastic bottles or cans for sale. Instead, we offer a unique all-you-can-drink “Rain Bar” with 5 types of organic soda for €1.

Our goal is to offer a new style of a fast-food restaurant that fits into the 21st-century state-of-mind. It’s time for a new normal in fast food.

Fine Fusion Food

Creating the “puzo”.

When we first tried Japanese onigiri, we realized rice balls can be as versatile (and satisfying) as a sandwich. Inspired by our world travels, we designed an eclectic 10-piece fusion menu. Emphasizing high-quality ingredients and creative, gourmet cooking, the puzo fillings are little taste explosions—and mercifully low in calories. The unique recipes are prepared fresh by the hands of acclaimed Bavarian cooking team, the Rocking Chefs.

Puzo Bar uses an Italian-grown variety of Koshihikari, a premium short-grain rice commonly used in Japan to make onigiri. With its natural sweetness and slightly gelatinous texture, the rice becomes a stage for the flavor-packed fillings to shine on. It is the combination of freshly cooked rice and filling that is essential to creating the perfect puzo.

The design of the restaurant is warm and inviting so that you can forget the stresses of your day—almost as if you were on vacation!

While waiting for your order, charge your phone at the high tables, refill a glass of organic soda, and take a break. It’s all about good vibes and the pura vida.

Bad Service is Not in Our Vocabulary

The team at Puzo Bar is dedicated to serving your needs, even if you’re in the shop for just 5 minutes. Whether you want to sit alone quietly or have a load of questions about the menu, our team members are happy to oblige.

A Tiny Carbon Footprint

Puzo Bar has a minimal ecological impact, and is very serious about keeping it that way.

Once you have been to paradise and seen blankets of plastic garbage on the beach, it’s impossible to forget the image. The founders of Puzo Bar are committed to running a fast-casual chain restaurant that rethinks the normal food service system. Puzo Bar is environmentally aware and practices new ways to effectively reduce waste.

Very Limited Plastic Waste

One big “no-no” for Puzo Bar is using plastic when it isn’t 100% necessary. Not only is the packaging made from recycled paper materials, it is recyclable as well. We are even reluctant to serve utensils as any item that isn’t totally necessary will amount to a huge waste later.

Centralized Kitchen

By preparing our recipes in one central kitchen, Puzo Bar has greater control over food waste. Added bonus: the electricity and water usage are significantly lower.

Great Price-Quality Ratio

Why should high-end food be expensive?

We don’t believe that gourmet should equate to exclusive. We designed a menu using high-grade ingredients not to be fancy, but because they are healthier. And we believe that healthy food should be available to everyone.

This isn’t junk food. Puzo Bar is a new style of fast food.

Hydration Station – the Bar with Ecological Intention

Try our All-You-Can-Drink “Rain Bar” with Organic Saru Soda.

Traditional soft drinks in plastic bottles (as well as cans) are convenient, but not environmentally aware options. Thankfully, the Amsterdam-based company KRNWTR offers a unique solution.

KRNWTR installs a water-purification system to the local tap water that comes out in two spouts: one for crisp, flat water and the second for bubbly, carbonated water. But that is not the most innovative part. KRNWTR provides a real alternative to soda drinks by offering organic syrups in tasty flavors. So, you can choose your flavor and fill up a (paper) cup with filtered flat or fizzy water. Customers are even encouraged to bring their own thermos or mug.

We are so against the distribution of plastic bottles, that the All-You-Can-Drink “Rain Bar” is available for just one euro.

Diversity

Puzo Bar celebrates diversity and hires people from around the world, from all walks of life.

Additionally, the founders of Puzo Bar believe in the importance of getting a second chance in life, and support hiring individuals who have decided to start over.

Your Health Matters to Us

At Puzo Bar, we put your health first.

Your health is our priority. Puzos are not cooked with unhealthy grease, saturated fats, corn syrups, or even refined sugar. Puzos are wholesome, nutritious food. Additionally, we only source high-grade ingredients (for example: all our proteins are farm-raised in Bavaria without nasty growth hormones).

Preservatives? Zero. As many studies show how harmful the effects of preservatives can be on the body, especially for children, we do not add any anywhere (not even to the sauces!).

Allergy issues? No problem. Whether you have a fish allergy or gluten intolerance, we have the information for you.

Dieting? Also, no biggie. We have information on what you can safely eat, from the Keto diet to Atkins’, under our Diets section.

Lastly, our drinks are organic syrups by Saru Soda. They are the best replacement for sodas; super tasty and refreshing.

Our Future and Our Plan

We have just gotten started and we are ambitious!

The founders of Puzo Bar have opened their first chain restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in an exciting partnership with the Delft-based Orange Pearl Innovation Group. We chose Orange Pearl because they are on a mission to make this world a better place through sustainable product innovations. Orange Pearl has been successful for many years, in many countries, and in many market segments ranging from medicinal self-care products to systems that save dolphins from the fishing industry.

Our plan is to open 3 Puzo Bars in Amsterdam before the end of 2021 and to start home deliveries.

We want to grow, and we want to grow fast. After Amsterdam, we will expand to other cities in Holland and new countries in the EU. Together we will continue to support diversity in human resources, helping our ambitious team members to set up their own Puzo Bar franchise. We intend to set a new example for sustainability practices in the food service sector, and last but not least, prove that there is a new, better way to serve fast food.
